Step 10.

All students

Start looking for flights.

Arrive in Europe on or before: Sept. 1
Leave Europe: The official program ends on Dec. 18th, but if flights are less expensive after this date, the castle will stay open through Christmas, so if you like, you can stay longer for 25 Euro per night.

We suggest that students arrive a few days before the official start of the program.

Airports we suggest:
Frankfurt International Airport (FRA)
Strasbourg Airport (SXB)

If you fly into Frankfurt Airport, there is a direct shuttle bus which you can take to Strasbourg. Details can be found here

Have questions or need help?: Please contact Heide Oelklaus
We are glad to help answer your questions or give you advice about flight and arrival details.

Time to start packing your bags2 weeks before departure day

Things you should bring with you to Strasbourg:

> 2 passport pictures of yourself
(you will need them for your student ID card and your public transportation pass in Strasbourg)

> Consider purchasing an Eurail ticket before leaving the US. You can't buy it in Europe and that is the incentive of the good deal for students who plan to travel extensively in Europe.

> Eventually think about getting an international drivers license from AAA if you are considering renting a car. It only costs $15 and is a translation of your US license.
(You will still need to bring your state driver's license and also a credit card.)

> Form and documents:
OFII form - signed by the consulate. This insures that you have housing and this form will need to be given to the perfecture (local residence office) in Strasbourg
