The Program Fee includes the following:

Housing:

  • Student room, double occupancy with shared bathroom in the Château de Pourtalès castle

  • Visit to the European Parliament

Brussels, Belgium and Luxembourg:
  • Excursion to Brussels, Luxembourg and Verdun:
    • Visit to the European Court of Justice in Luxembourg
    • Ministère des Affaires Etrangères de Luxembourg
    • 3-4 Visits to institutions in Brussels, for example -  NATO, SHAPE, EU Commisions, Council of the European Union, US Mission and / or World Bank Group
Germany:
  • Visit to the Bundesbank (German Federal Bank)
  • Visit to the German Stock Exchange 
  • Visit to the German Federal Constitutional Court (Bundesverfassungsgericht) in Karlsruhe
Cultural visits and activities:
  • Day tour with a private guide along the Alsatian wine route “route du vin” during the day and a visit to an Alsatian winery incl. wine tasting
  • Guided tour of the Haut Koenigsbourg Castle and visit to the former concentration camp Struthof
  • Day trip to the city of Heidelberg, Germany. Walking tour and visit to the famous Heidelberg Castle
  • Guided boat tour of Strasbourg
  • Guided tour of the Historical Museum in Strasbourg
  • Visit to the Kronenbourg Brewery  incl. beer tasting
  • Visit to an automobile company in Rastatt
  • Company visit in the region near Strasbourg
On-site coordinator:
  • “Survival French“ course (20 hours) 
  • Orientation session and on-site coordinator in Strasbourg
Transportation: 
  • One group pick-up will be arranged for all students who arrive at Frankfurt International Airport on the arrival day -
    Fly to Frankfurt International Airport (FRA)
    Depart the US on: August 30, 2011
    Arrive in Europe on: August 31, 2011 before 11:00 am

    For all students arriving on Aug. 31 before 11:00 am into Frankfurt International Airport (FRA) - we will pick you up and bring you directly to the Château per coach bus. This transfer is included in your program fee, so take advantage of this! It will save you a lot of time, money and headaches! Students who choose to arrive at any other airport, date or time will be responsible for their own transportation arrangements and costs.

  • Public transportation pass for Strasbourg for the duration of the program
  • All ground transfers for the official activities and excursions included in the program
  • Free use of bikes at the Château

Internet and Phone: 

  • Free use of computer lab & Internet access 
  • Cell phone (minutes not included)
Insurances: 
  • HTH Insurance (through GSU) and the French Social Securité insurances are included in the program fee

What is not included in the program fee:

  • Georgia State University tuition and fees will be charged separately
  • Roundtrip airfare
  • Housing costs before Aug. 31 and after Dec.17, 2011
  • Visa and passport expenses
  • Excess baggage charges
  • Cell phone minutes
  • Personal expenses
